Coconut Oil - Go Nuts!
It may sound crazy, but I have found the best body and facial lotion, bug bite soother, scrape and burn healer, and eczema reliever in the Coconut. Fitness is Fun - Count On It
When my son came home with a low grade on a math assessment I felt sick to my stomach. After so many hours practicing the math facts, exercising his brain and getting passing grades on his basic math facts, I was now alarmed. Did he forget everything he had learned? Why did he get this low grade? Or was he just memorizing for the moment...and the test to get through it? Was math FUN for him or was it simply a chore to do his math homework? Kids need to realize the fun in something while practicing it in order to learn and excel, and so do adults.
How many times have you dragged yourself to the gym, dreading the hour or so ahead of you of fitness practice? Yep, fitness practice. In order to become proficient at something it takes practice until it makes sense in our brains, and in this case, in our bodies. Are you having FUN while working out? Do you enjoy the fitness exercises and weight lifting and body building exercises that you are doing? Or, are you just going through the motions to get it done? Think about it, the more fun you have doing what you are doing, the more endorphins are released, the more pleasure you get from the exercise, and the more you want to workout. The Fitness Benefits of a Simple Beach Workout
The beach is a perfect place to get a simple yet effective workout. A fitness routine for our bodies is right there at our feet as we enjoy walking miles in the sand...and then back. Use the warm cross winds as resistance and gently tone your arms. While keeping your arms strong, simply stretch them out to the side and make small circles as you push forward against the wind. Keep doing these arm exercises until you feel a slight burn or the muscle feels tired. Be stylish with a comfy cotton t-shirt, sexy sports bra or racer back tank top while you burn fat and calories with a quick run or walk along the water. A brisk walk against that blowing wind can certainly tone and tighten gluteus, quad and calf muscles without any fitness equipment to drag along. You can take your sticky mat down to the beach with you, but core strengthening Yoga and Pilates exercises can be done right from your beach chair. Or, as my fit friend Aliene likes to remind us, from the seat of our car while sitting at a stoplight or driving to the beach. Just pull in your tummy muscles and slightly pump your muscles in and out with each breath to strengthen them while just sitting in your beach chair or car. Multi-tasking CAN be good for your health.

Buddy Up with a Personal Fitness Trainer This Summer
Remember during Summer Camp when we had to "buddy up" with someone so we or they did not get lost on the trails, in the lake or left behind at the campfire? This person was the one who looked out for us throughout the day or week to make sure we were keeping in line with the rest of the campers. We came to bond with this new partner in life because many times this person became our reasoning side, our protector and of course, a new friend and pen pal for life. We told our "buddy" everything and swore each other to secrecy. Our camp buddy relationship provided an early experience with trusting another with not only our secrets, but with our well-being. The camping days of our youth are far behind us, but we can still enjoy the buddy system as grown-ups through a relationship with a personal trainer.
